  Any regrets whilst you were in the Org

  the biggest regret i have is of 'shunning' persons who were disfellowshipped and for 'marking' ones deemed as bad association.. there's no way i can approach these people to ask them for forgiveness as i've emigrated to another country however, by this post i'd like it to be known..

  Sun,moon, earth and mathematics .

  just thought id let you all in on some info i found on northeasttruth.com.

  that magical moment where the moon blocks out the sun!

  but only just enough to perfectly cover the suns disc, whilst still allowing us to see the corona of light and other electromagnetic forces radiating from it.. this only happens because the moon diameter is exactly 1/400th the size of the suns and is positioned at exactly 1/400th of the distance between earth and the sun!so, when we see it from the surface of earth, we are in the only place this can ever be seen, at the only time it could ever happen.

  There is a lot of dishonesty in your equations. In your example that I've quoted above you have gone to two decimal places regarding the moons orbit but you have rounded up earth's rotations in a year.

  If we use your equation using two decimal places on earth's annual rotations, your equasion looks like this:-

  1/366.26 which equals 0.0027300879 as a decimal.

  Using your theory of rounding up the decimal conversion of the fraction you end up with it actually being 2730. Subsequently there is no correlation at all so can hardly be claimed as a 'numerical reciprocal relationship'.

  Why ex-JW's so knowledgeable when it comes to the Bible?

  over the years here on this site i have found over half of the folks can hold their own with any minister.. why when we leave the borg we become proficient on any subject on the bible.. why did we go down that road?

  my intention was to get close to jehovah (searching the bible), but i. guess i found lucifer.

  i'am ask all the time, how did you go from a true believer to calling the bible a book.

  I think that when a long held faith falls apart, especially a faith like the JW belief, it is a natural process to go back over all that you have ever been taught with a fine tooth comb.

  You come at it more objectively, are more honest and this goes onto highlight the flaws in the belief and the delusion you have been under.

  The undermining aspect of this inclines people to do a thorough research of what they have been involved in, largely because of the need of healing.

  As a result they become encyclopedic on the subject and therefore know more than people still involved in the faith.

  This then has the knock on effect with regards to the entire subject of belief. When you see through one you tend to see through them all.

  Getting baptised whilst full of doubts.

  Before baptism I was told the questions I had would be answered 'in God's due time'.

  After baptism I was told that some questions I had wouldn't be answered till after Armageddon.

  These questions required answers before dedication. Stupidly went ahead anyway. How foolish I was...

  Can an atheist date jw?

  hey everyone!.

  first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.

  i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

  You are way too young for any of this.

  The fact is she hasn't been upfront and honest with you so far so why is that going to change if you continue a relationship with her?

  She also hasn't been considering your needs, especially from the intimate side of the relationship. Not exactly fair for a young man your age.

  She's pulled in two directions and hasn't exactly gravitated towards your side. She's putting herself and the fear for her mother before you. None of these factors are a good bedrock for a budding relationship.

  Guilt and fear are dictating to her now and this is not going to change in the future either, even if she is disassociated.

  Oh, and if you are wise, don't show her this web site, or any other anti-JW site for that matter. It won't have the weight you think it might. It will just mean that Satan is now influencing you to break her faith. Don't even mention you have been looking on these kind of web sites.
